Major Christian received his Bachelors of Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma; he received his commission as an officer by going through the Collegiate ROTC Program at The University of Central Oklahoma. As a Captain in the United States Army he continued to break barriers being the first and only African American to serve as Commandant in the history of Fort Benjamin Harrison, he served in Operation Freedom from 2008-2009. In Afghanistan he and five other majors who once trained together became known as “The Six Pac”. He experienced going outside the safety zone “the wire” in the midst of death defying situations.
Major Raymond Christian gives honor to all Americans soldiers who have served to defend the United States of America, his friends and supporters from all over the world in more ways than just his artistic talents. He is an Infantry Officer graduated from Fort Benning, Georgia “Home of the Infantry” and a prior enlisted soldier of the United States Marine Corps. He is a decorated soldier of many honors because of the dedicated service, valor and loyalty he has shown throughout his life for his country.
Major Christian is in the Poets Hall of Fame, nationally and internationally known he has two Life Time Achievement Awards along with many other awards such as the Diamond Homer Award, The Prometheus Muse of Fire Award, an Ambassador of Poetry for the United States of America, he is noted by the United Kingdom as a Poet Scholar with so many others awards. He is a renowned author, a man of God and an Ordained Elder, Church of God in Christ.
